About Beach Girl Beauty

In the Beginning there was Sun & Sand – And it was Good… As a young girl growing up on the beaches of Southern California, my father always encouraged us to take care of our skin and hair through the use of quality beauty products. My father, W.D. has been a major influence on my path to being a creator of beauty products. Beginning in the 1970s through the 1980s he worked as a professional makeup artist and hairstylist for print, film, television and video in Los Angeles, CA making many of Hollywood's legends look their best. Often times he would give me products that he carried in his makeup kit that contained the best hair and skincare products found in the entertainment industry. As a result of using many of the best products in the industry, this is the standard to which we at Beach Girl Beauty aspire.

Back to the Beach In 1992, I decided to pursue an education in Aesthetics as this seemed to be the next logical step in my journey. I began to learn in depth how skin, the largest organ in our body, works and needs care in order to look and feel its best. My education included clinical application and knowledge of the Cosmetology Act Rules & Regulations, chemistry, health & safety, disinfection & sanitation, electricity, anatomy, physiology, bacteriology, facials, body wraps, and hair removal (facial and body). During this time I was inspired and encouraged by W.D. to begin developing my own simple recipes using his feedback based upon his knowledge of the best skincare products available at any price. This combination of solid skincare training and chemistry knowledge would be the seeds that take root and grow into what is today known as Beach Girl Beauty.

The Beach Girl Makes Her Entrance As time passed I also became a clean-eating enthusiast and was intrigued with eating fewer refined and processed foods. This way of life naturally carried over to products I used for skincare. Four years ago, creating nourishing bath and beauty products became an extension of my everyday life. In addition, my Native American ancestry has been a sort of guide for my conscience when the time comes to choosing particular ingredients for new products, always keeping simplicity and function in mind. In addition, we source Fair-trade raw Shea Butter from Africa, cold-pressed and organic oils, as well as use recycleable and biodegradeable materials for shipping our orders.
